Let’s face it. The American school system sucks. Teachers have no control over the classroom. They fear for their jobs over any recrimination from the students, parent, or the school itself. Curriculums and grading are watered down to the point where a majority of high school graduates entering college must take remedial math and/or English classes to enter even community college – an extension of high school.
High school students who do excel take accelerated classes and utilize private teaching. Moreover, in colleges and universities students now grade the professors! Not so in Europe, Japan, or China where education is far superior in mathematics, foreign languages, and drive for learning.
THE VALUE OF A PRIVATE TEACHER?
#1. Saving time (years) and tens of thousands of dollars)
#2. Not going into debt..
#3. Acquiring skills that lead to career-level jobs.
I AM looking for 1-3 students for full-time, private teaching in a number of subjects for which I am well qualified: Languages, math, history, business, and economics. I can teach students to become fluent in French or Spanish within a year or less, depending upon their starting point and their motivation. I can also teach two years of Russian, beginning German, and Chinese from first year to any level. (My adopted daughter is Chinese and a teacher). As a former business executive I also teach presentation skills. AS a published author, I teach English and writing skills.
My name is Michael Jian. I am a writer, both novelist and screenwriter. As yet not well established, I support myself by teaching. I have had the good fortune to have lived in four countries other than America and worked, or visited – mostly for business- 23 countries.
